Druidale Motor Club was formed on the 14th July 1972 by members
of the then Volkswagon Drivers Club and SAAB Owners Club. Some of the
original committee: Selwyn Pye (original chairman and now President of
the club), Harold Canon (original treasurer), John Brown, Irwin Gelling,
Aisla Kelly, Bert Corkill. Past chairman have included Glenn Leece, Pat Bettridge, Ian Corkill, Andrew Holmes, John Corlett, Richard Beamount and David Cain. Each year we run 4 Night Rallies (which this year are the January Rally, March Rally, Mayflower Rally and Edwin Inston Memorial Rally) and 2 Stage Rallies (Duke Stages Rally and Jurby Stages). To mark 30 years of DMC, the club organised a "Tent Do" following the Duke Stages Rally. A Hog Spit Roast and copious amount of falling down water were consumed by most of those present, the evening was a success and all that attended enjoyed celebrating this milestone. |
